Return Policy
Return Policy
Effective Date: 9/22/2025
At Uptown Pharmacy, we are committed to providing safe, high-quality pharmacy and wellness products. Because we dispense prescription medications under strict federal and state regulations, our return and exchange policy must comply with legal and patient safety requirements.
1. Prescription Medications
- No Returns or Refunds: Once a prescription medication has been dispensed, we cannot accept returns or issue refunds, even if unopened, due to FDA, DEA, and state Board of Pharmacy regulations.
- This includes medications from programs such as 340B, Medication Therapy Management (MTM), and Medicare Part B medications.
- If you believe there has been an error with your prescription (wrong medication, dosage, or quantity), please contact us immediately so we can correct it.
2. Over-the-Counter (OTC) & Non-Prescription Products
- Unopened OTC Products: Unopened, unused, and undamaged OTC items may be returned within 14 days of purchase with the original receipt.
- Opened OTC Products: For safety reasons, opened OTC products, vitamins, supplements, or medical devices may not be returned unless defective.
- Wellness Products & Medical Equipment: Certain products (e.g., InBody scale readings, personal wellness items, diabetic testing supplies, strip packaging) are non-returnable once opened or used.
3. Defective or Damaged Items
- If a product is defective, damaged, or incorrect, Uptown Pharmacy will offer an exchange or refund.
- Please notify us within 7 days of purchase with proof of receipt.
4. Vaccinations & Clinical Services
- Fees paid for services such as flu shots, immunizations, pharmacogenetic (PGx) testing, InBody wellness checks, MTM consultations, or provider services are non-refundable once the service has been provided.
- If you are unable to attend a scheduled appointment, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance to reschedule.
5. Refund Method
- Approved refunds will be processed back to the original form of payment.
- Refunds typically appear within 5–10 business days depending on your bank or card issuer.
6. Special Programs
- Patient Assistance Program (PAP) and 340B Program medications are not eligible for return or refund.
- Manufacturer program items must follow the manufacturer’s specific return guidelines (if applicable).
7. Exceptions
Uptown Pharmacy reserves the right to:
- Deny or limit a return if it appears fraudulent or abusive.
- Require valid proof of purchase (receipt or order confirmation).
- Comply with additional state or federal regulations that may restrict certain returns.
